No longer do you have to entertain yourself by lugging around tomes of heavy books. Now all you have to do is upset a few electrons in this digital age and you can listen to anyone book you select on your iPod, Cd player,Mp3 or even your movable phone. Well, your cell phone if you live in the Us.

Remember the story about the mouse and the Elephant? How that beautiful petite mouse gnawed straight through the rope-netting and saved his elephant friend?

As kids, we all felt uplifted by this story and we never dreamed that one day an electron would save a fine Pine. Yet it is population from our era who have instigated this technology.

And we get to listen to anyone story takes our fancy and even ones that are ‘have to be’ reads.

Now kids can listen to Shakespeare and hear the words spoken by professionals that bring the stories and language to life for them.

They no longer have to battle with the ‘old English’ words like we did as kids. And which I think was partly responsible for many of us disliking the literature; simply because we couldn’t ‘see’ it clearly enough in our imaginations straight through the battle fog of working out how the words indubitably sounded.

The charm of the spoken word when we have to use our own imaginations; put our own emotive meanings to the spoken words without having man else put their optic interpretations in front of us ~ is illuminating.

Words take on meaning again for us in such a way that is being lost to non-readers due to time constraints.

Many population today spend a large percentage of their time waiting. Waiting in traffic jams, waiting for buses, trains, airports. Or even just waiting for an appointment. Time thieves are everywhere. So much so, that the majority of us just sit and wait.

So if you feel that your loss of time can be rectified and better used for your enjoyment, entertainment or learning, maybe all you have to do is inconvenience a few electrons, and save some pine forests in the process.
